Noise War

Make the biggest daftest noises to win. The player holding the most cards at the end of the game is the winner!

Setup

Shuffle both decks. Deal 3 x ? cards and 3 x ! cards to each player. Place the remaining cards in the centre.

big daft noise war deal three cards

Choose who becomes the first card boss. Everyone takes a deep breath and hums! Whoever hums for the longest on one breath becomes the first card boss.

Play!

The card boss chooses one ? card and one ! card from their hand to make a prompt and shows it to the other players. Eg. ? Spooky ! Frog

Everyone (apart from the card boss) takes it in turn to make the biggest daftest Spooky Frog noise. Play starts from the left of the and continues clockwise.

The card boss decides who made the best noise and announces them the winner. The cards in play, eg. Spooky and Frog, are given to the winning player and are kept face down next to them to keep tally, they are no longer in play.

The player to the left of the card boss becomes the new card boss, they select a ? and a ! card from their hand and play continues until all players have played their cards.

Winning

The winner is the player who won the most cards.

Draw - Laugh Off

In the event of a draw (at any point) a Laugh Off is triggered. The card boss turns over a ? card and a ! card from the deck and chooses who goes first. The first player must make the noise on the cards eg. Karate Grandma.

The second player must not laugh before, during, or for five seconds after the noise is made.

If they laugh the first player wins and the laugh off cards are returned to the bottom of the deck. The original cards in play, eg. Karate and Grandma, are given to the winner.

If the second player doesn’t laugh, it’s their turn to make the noise and the first player must not laugh.

If neither player laughs, the cards are returned to the bottom of the deck, new ? and ! cards are turned over from the top of the deck.

Play continues until a player laughs and a winner is decided.

Optional - Passing

At the start of a hand the card boss can turn over one ! card from the deck and lay it face up. This is the noise a player must make if they want to pass. At the end of the hand the card is returned to the bottom of the deck and another is turned over by the next card boss.
