S410 -Day #18
Starter for Ten - April 23rd 2023
Shan knows I love a prompt card and sent me a set from The School of Life for self-exploration. The card I chose from random today asked me to think of three things that annoy me about someone close to me. This inspired today’s story, for the record this is fictional, if anyone I love has a jaw that clicks or loves chicken cup-a-soup it doesn’t annoy me.
Ten minutes of free writing.
The last time I went to IKEA I picked up the fluorescent children’s paints MALA. I had no idea what I was doing but I enjoyed experimenting and playing with the paint.
Ten minute sketch: paint
I sketched with the paints and took a print by squishing it with a sheet of a4 paper to see what would happen.
The results were pretty cool but I had some time left in the ten minutes so I decided to keep going. I wasn’t sure what to do next and picked up a black felt tip and started to doodle.
I have no idea what this but it looks like an experiment. I felt freedom creating this even though it will go straight in the bin.
Starter for Ten (S410) is a daily creative exercise that I will do for the next 30 days. I set a ten-minute timer and write whatever comes into my head. After that I do the same to create a visual. The idea is to loosen up, create daily and get over the idea that everything I make needs to be perfect or have a purpose.
I will document the process here on this site and on my Instagram stories. Photos will be unedited to keep it real. This challenge both terrifies and excites me, let’s see what happens.
