S410 -Day #20

Starter for Ten - April 25th 2023

I thought I would try something new and write outside today. I also recorded myself reading the freewriting I created and have posted it below. Goodbye, comfort zone!

I wanted to try to write in the third person but kept getting confused and abandoned it halfway through. I loved being outside to write, although my hands were freezing afterward.

Ten minutes of free writing.

I have been thinking about how many more dogs there are now. Wondering if things like lamposts will deteriorate quicker with more dogs peeing on them. But I’m not sure where the idea of how a dog feels about lockdown and having babies came from. And it feels like I’m getting a bit Brexit-y with the local comments.

After writing about dogs I wanted to draw one. I started with the word ‘WOOF’ and the dog appeared behind it. I wonder what his name is…

Starter for Ten (S410) is a daily creative exercise that I will do for the next 30 days. I set a ten-minute timer and write whatever comes into my head. After that I do the same to create a visual. The idea is to loosen up, create daily and get over the idea that everything I make needs to be perfect or have a purpose.

I will document the process here on this site and on my Instagram stories. Photos will be unedited to keep it real. This challenge both terrifies and excites me, let’s see what happens.
