Sunday post #04

It’s been a focused week working on PowerPoint design for VS+YO clients to help them secure new business.

When I tell people I love designing in PowerPoint they are often surprised. Designers are notorious for hating PowerPoint, and a lot of people ask why bother getting a designer to work on it when you can do it yourself.

Five reasons our clients choose to collaborate with us on these types of projects are:

1. Time

Handing over to a designer gives you back your time to focus on the other parts of your job that need your focus. And gives you extra time to nail the pitch.

2. Budget

Do some quick maths. How many hours do you spend designing a PowerPoint deck? Imagine that time as a cost and ask a designer how long it would take them. It might be that the investment in design might be more effective and save you time and stress.

3. Confidence

Looking your best gives always you confidence. You won’t be dreading the slide that doesn’t quite make sense as you have talked it through with the designer who helped you simplify your message.

4. Focus

Briefing and explaining your content to a designer helps to understand how your content will come across to someone seeing it for the first time. This process will help you create a deck that allows you to have a focused conversation and gives you the flexibility to adapt your pitch to the audience.

5. Consistency

Brand consistency builds trust. If your business strategy requires multiple meetings or rounds to secure new business showing up with presentations that look branded and consistent will help build trust and make your recognisable and memorable.

Inspiration mission

On Friday, I visited London to get inspired. Highlights included a trip to the Design Museum, Tate Modern, and the best tacos at El Pastor. I love these trips, they feel like a proper brain break and give me lots of energy and experiences I can bring back into the studio.

How do you stay inspired? I would love to know in the comments or message me over on LinkedIn.
