S410 -Day #25
Starter for Ten - April 30th 2023
Ten minutes of free writing.
Have you ever swiped left or right on someone? I was hooked up before the joy of Tinder arrived and missed out. But it seems there are apps for everything now that use the concept of swiping to make a decision, including chosing baby names, which is where the inspiration for today came from.
Ten minute sketch: black felt tip pen
I’m feeling pretty anxious this evening. When I was a child, and I felt this way, I would close my eyes. Sometimes I would see lots of eyes looking back at me. It would freak me out. Pretty weird. Drawing this made me feel a bit better, and I’m finding that drawing is helping me feel calmer and less anxiety overall. That’s a great outcome, even if my drawings are a bit rubbish.
Starter for Ten (S410) is a daily creative exercise that I will do for the next 30 days. I set a ten-minute timer and write whatever comes into my head. After that I do the same to create a visual. The idea is to loosen up, create daily and get over the idea that everything I make needs to be perfect or have a purpose.
I will document the process here on this site and on my Instagram stories. Photos will be unedited to keep it real. This challenge both terrifies and excites me, let’s see what happens.
